Where do Kids League Kenya work?
We are focused on the Kongowea community in Mombasa, Kenya. We work with local schools to identify students leaving their free education and with potential to continue their education, but without the family funding to do this. Find out more about Where we work.
What is the target of Kids League Kenya?
We have a robust selection process for choosing students who live in the impoverished coastal community of Kongowea in Mombasa, Kenya. We identify students with potential through our partner schools and offer scholarships to those that would not be able to afford school beyond a primary level.
What levels of education does Kids League Kenya support?
We assist students throughout their academic careers, from secondary school through college. We also give allowances for students in universities as long as they meet predetermined accomplishment levels.

How do I donate from the UK?
We have a number of ways to donate from the UK.
We partner with Operation Orphan to enable monthly payments. For a one-off donation please use international payment platform Trustbridge.

Can I come to Kenya and volunteer?
We welcome volunteers to help us to drive forward our charity.
As our work locally is driven by our team on the ground in Kongowea, building trust and relationships with the community, we look for our volunteers to help in other ways than visiting.

How does one apply for the scholarship?
Most of our students come as recommendations from our school partners.
If you believe you know a student that meets our selection criteria for a scholarship and would like to discuss applying please contact us.
What requirements must a student meet in order to qualify for the scholarship?
We have a set criteria we are looking for when considering a student for a scholarship.
1. An applicant must live in Kongowea, Mombasa.
2. Score over 320 out of 500 in their KCPE exam.
3. Come from a low-income family
4. Attend a public school. Find out more detailed information on how we select our students.
Does the scholarship meet all the needs of the students?
For secondary school we cover the school fees.
For university students’ allowances we work with the student and family to cover their first year tuition and then help with other living costs.
